That Only Happened Three Times. Four, Tops

posted by Chris on 2014/8/19 (Comics)

Good afternoon all! Many apologies for the little break between comics but here we are joining our friends again in the bowels of the thieves guild, with one less door than the guild had two comics ago Wink

What thee fuc.k why are there 2 nona
A loyal reader - 2014/9/4
Just to make it clear, polenta is not a kind of bread, it's a corn flour recipe, and it can be fried or not (when not fried, it's almost liquid). It's a very popular side dish where I live.
Nona Reverse - 2014/9/4
X is gone . . .

That is quite sad. Where did you guys put him? Maybe where Finx and Arderas are being kept, to render them so utterly ineffectual?
Nona Reverse - 2014/9/4
. . . Po . . . len . . . ta? . . .

Is it bread?
I was wondering, X, aside from Tiri, the real Nona Reverse, W., and sometimes JSHII, who has responded to you? I can't recall, I am not looking through the previous sections, and it often appears that after fifteen comments are made, the rest only come from a few people. Perhaps they should all be banned.
Nona Reverse - 2014/9/4
I prefer "Reverse," actually, and must apologize to everyone. It slightly annoyed me every time "Nona" got used. In case certain people are paranoid enough as to be bothered by this, I never let on. Low of me. Deepest apologies.

Tiri - 2014/9/3
Puri bread!
W. - 2014/9/2
*wonder about all these reference to bread*

It didnt appear in story but was referenced by keriss when slept in the village ( a few strip before the ending of the druid's life). It seem that kriss has known Aldran for a very long time and a lot happened. Aldran being himself, a lot of epicness (for him) and random destruction (in her eyes).
Nona Reverse - 2014/9/1
Sorry, W. I really love flat bread, by the way, and am downright grateful.

I don't remember when Aldran blew up an inn. So that just happened in some vague history? I want to see it!
W. - 2014/9/1
Lets get back to speaking and discussing about the comic, before aldran blow up another thread.

Tiri - 2014/9/1
Iranian flatbread.
Tiri - 2014/9/1
Hey, who impersonated me? X? Not funny, really.
Nona Reverse - 2014/8/31
Sorry for my offensive previous comment. Rye bread. Please respond . . .
Nona Reverse - 2014/8/31
If a hundred comments come to be made here, I think that it will be sad. There used to be so much witty banter going on! There were layered, soul-gripping intrigues of the darkest and cleverest sort . . . now it almost seems like no one is interested in the comic.
Anon - 2014/8/31
"Plaid" for attention? Really? And for Christ's sake, do you not know spam when you see it? Like, what's with you trying to be all Sherlock and assuaging the fears of us simple, common folk in saying "if it were really someone 'important' he wouldnt brag here" as though you're being in any way clever or observant. Yes. ****ing duh. Get over yourself and over that.
W. - 2014/8/31
seing X wasnt funny. But now his desesperate plaid for attention are almost cute. And annoying.

Should we expect more Aldran action for the next page?
Tiri - 2014/8/30
Ok, sorry. I'm wrong.
Tiri - 2014/8/30
Stop
W. - 2014/8/30
I am wondering where free and sample went, (mostly sample) : they are too large to just be hidden That easyly, no?

we also have a confirmation of Aldran "team's dad" role for the group, despite Keriss reaction

I like the fact that the person lana talk to (about the fearless leader) didnt appear the next panel : already gathering paint and ideas?

Asfor the author of the wall of text, i think we have a mythomane : if it were really someone "important" he wouldnt brag here.
Wasnt there a limit on the number of character a comment can have?
Anon - 2014/8/30
Tl;dr, m8.
Tiri - 2014/8/27
'Cold-blooded' has a hyphen in-between the two words. The same goes for 'cold-hearted'. Also, 'Dad', as a name frequently given to fathers by their children, but not an official term used to refer to one's father, must be spelt with a capital D.
Anon - 2014/8/26
Oh, I'm here, but I've not got much to say. This strip isn't particularly inspired, but it's not got any glaring errors or flaws. The odd grammar has already been pointed out, as has the awkward pacing of the departure from the guild and the Lizardfolk following. I could make a remark about how the "revenge for something that happened when they were kids" is still heavy-handed and without basis, but that would just be repeating my arguments from the last strip. This one's just a bit boring, that's all.
Tiri - 2014/8/26
YAY! I CAN POST AGAIN! I was having trouble with it for awhile. Kept saying 'there is an error'.
Tiri - 2014/8/26
Forgetting he was transformed is more likely. Also, I notice Anon hasn't showed up to criticise anything.
W. - 2014/8/25
or Kaal who forgot he was transformed?
Ramakidin - 2014/8/25
I am glad to see another strip that moving the story forward. Also, I am betting the Lizardman is Kaal to make fun of her.
W. - 2014/8/23
if it were not Kal, why would he follow them? (to be added to the group? it could be fun, but 'umplausible')
ArtyD - 2014/8/21
As said in the previous comic "stop trying to sneak around like that" resulting in a complete and total lack of doing anything rogueish. No checking if you're followed, no checking for traps, no checking if your party members are your party members...
Nona Reverse - 2014/8/21
If the lizard man was Kaal, why did she look behind her and mention him being a thief, or even say "where else would he go"? But then, why would she calmly let the random lizard man who had robbed her follow along, in that last panel?

And about the twelfth panel, did Aldran actually blow up an inn, before? I don't remember the particular scene.
W. - 2014/8/21
is the "lizard" here Kal? (still in disguise)
Me - 2014/8/20
So... why is the orange-haired lizard man going with them? And why does a lizard man have hair? And why is it orange?

Not the best comic, but not the worst either. Lara's line in the second panel is very awkward.

To the writer, when you think of some dialogue, why don't you try actually saying it out loud before you settle on it?
JHSII - 2014/8/20
Yay, comic!! Happy
Mad Lemmey - 2014/8/20
Welcome back, another strip that makes the story a good un!

Now awaiting an inevitable betrayal. Wink
Ertai - 2014/8/20
Ok, this was good strip. I mean nothing special, but good, solid one. Just... waiting a month for new strip is... not optimal, I won't lie...
Jillster4 - 2014/8/20
Hoorah! An update!
I'm glad to see that our vampiric hypnotist seems content (for the monent at least).
Aohaku - 2014/8/19
I think the tiefling may still be a bit crazy from the augury. Thank you for uploading this.
Nona Reverse - 2014/8/19
Great strip, Dyluth and Leakingpen! Thank the both of you for keeping this comic alive enough!

The first comment should have been trolling, though. This is might be one of the better strips to come in a long while, but such low standards . . .
