I also didn't the Wizard of Oz reference untill was pointed out!
Now I understand why Aldran grabbed tha bugbear's axe-> tinman
My guess was that Kaal scene was like the scene with Frank and his roming area limit... you know.... silly me
Lerky - 2009/4/9
DANG IT! I feel like Aldran. I remember this...but I can't quite put a name on it...help is appreciated.
Germille - 2009/4/9
oh god i get it LOL
Elena (aka Lionpawheart) - 2009/4/8
Lol, I just got the tWoO reference after it was pointed out. then I laughed my head off. Thanks a bunch for the comic Very happy
Toil3T - 2009/4/8
@ awibs The same way Wile E. Coyote runs off a cliff and keeps going until he looks down, or the same way Kaal stayed in that cart they were travelling in in an earlier strip until he thought about how he managed to stay in.

Or for comedic effect.
Whoracle - 2009/4/8
Good gods!
It took me to the penultimate panel to figure that one out.

Great Stuff!
awibs - 2009/4/8
so, how are they dragging an incorporeal being in panel 6?
kres - 2009/4/7
Aldran's comment in panel 7 could also be a foreshadow if Jordan is sly enough to slip that one in on us...
Toil3T - 2009/4/7
Comic? Yay!

Awesome reference. I just hope they're carrying water - wouldn't want to run into a witch unprepared.
Tanner - 2009/4/7
...WiZard...sorry...ZAP-ARG!
Tanner - 2009/4/7
...Hey your right! this is just like the wisard of oz.
Tanner - 2009/4/7
Maybe it's kaal's mother.Tongue
Kazemi - 2009/4/7
Jeez, what a nasty Wizard of Oz reference. Bonus points for slipping it in, though. That's why I love this comic.
Malygos - 2009/4/7
Well I never liked Wizzard of Oz... And picking up reffernce with Opera Event in Karazhan was not the first thing I could come up with Very happy
Ben Harrison - 2009/4/7
Wow, didn't pick up on the reference until it was pointed out. Brilliantly done.
WhatCouldBe - 2009/4/7
Don't forget the ballon Toto!
Face of Evil - 2009/4/7
Also, Aldran is the Tin Woodsman, Lana is Dorothy and Keriss is the Scarecrow.
Niley - 2009/4/7
Ah, yes, NOW I get it! It's a reference to Wizard of Oz. Kaal's got cat make-up, and in Wizard of Oz we had this chicken of a Lion...
Niley - 2009/4/7
I don't get it...
ARISTEIDIS GR - 2009/4/7
I didn't understand a thing....
Quicksilver_502 - 2009/4/7
erm, could anyone clue those in who don't know what is being referred to?
Face of Evil - 2009/4/7
Zarah, you sly dog! You set that up last comic and I didn't see it coming! Excellent work! Very happy
Uncle Festy - 2009/4/7
%u2026
Oooooh. I get it now.
*hasn't seen tWoO in far too long*
>.
Monty - 2009/4/7
I fully expect them to encounter a giant floating head now.
Malygos - 2009/4/7
Well, though it reminds me of something I am not sure about what... so could anyone kick me up to speed?

B)Yeah Frank, but perhaps he could get a role in new Ghostbusters game...looking awesome I must say. Lets hope Rey and Egon will be allowed to finish scenary of that game Very happy
tRM - 2009/4/7
This was a really clever setup. The reference became a bit heavy handed after panel five, but kudos still for the allusion and a great comic.
Crazed - 2009/4/7
So this is why you wanted to see that scene from Wizard awhile ago...
Doug Lampert - 2009/4/7
I'll get you my pretty, and your little balloon too.
gamer-geek - 2009/4/7
Surrender Lana!
Ganurath - 2009/4/7
Alas, poor Frank, I knew him well.
Plum - 2009/4/7
lol
I love the reference!
