He's On The Lam

He's pretty laid back for a demi-god, isn't he?

Man, I love Zurie. Second panel is my favourite.

Veil command structure is quite effective actually... Ardeas can be at ease- his minions are definitely not going to conspire againts him as they are ocupied conspiring againts themselves... 10gp against... If Arderas is atemting to became god last thing he need is loose demigod...

Finally finished reading through the archives to catch up for the next story arc.

Remember the demigod from the prophecy? 10 GP says it's Arderas, and the Ivory Veil are the ones trying to free him.

I think I've figured out the Ivory Veil's general structure, but I'd like to learn more about Ralut and Zurie's specific roles. Quentas is either a psion or has focus in divination, I would guess he commands the magic side of things, or possibly their spy network. Eldhin is the leader of the Ivory Veil's army of paladins. Maybe Zurie is in charge of special projects?

Arderas is a very lenient ruler.... he just lets Eldin escape by himself and takes no measures against the treason, and he also allows Zurie to talk to him like an equal and only tells her off once... again no strict measures taken...

His personality doesn't seem like he's the BIG BAD GUY. Although since we've never seen his face when he talks, that IS a point for the BAD GUY argument..

Now that's my kind of deity!

Eldhin has obviously earnt Arderas's trust in these matters.
Sirek - 2009/3/24
Wait, maybe it's Hal 9002.

Let the "Over 9,000!" jokes begin
The lazy commoner - 2009/3/24
Arderas certainly is a very traditional deity...
MyrddinDerwydd - 2009/3/24
Gotta love the god slang. "Now go find something for our lich to do, would ya'?" I wish more people were as laid back about god as this god is about him/her self!
Doopliss - 2009/3/24
Lerky: I'm pretty sure Zurie would, in fact, treat a god that way, but we have "God-in-training" from Comic 142. So I'm imagining either a demigod of some kind, or The Great and Powerful Oz who swapped out his previous red motif for blue. Probably the former.
Lerky - 2009/3/24
I wonder what int he world that blue thing is. Seems likea god but they question it too much for it be that.
Gough - 2009/3/24
Im pretty sure its her self confidence thats epic level
Paragon - 2009/3/24
"Kicked his ass!"

Seriously, what level is Zurie? She has to be at least epic if she thinks that she could beat Eldhin in a fight.
kres - 2009/3/24
Well an over glorifed merc guild, with a patheon as the head, no wonder things are so loosey-goosey with the class/alignments arrangment. Holy Merc's Batman!
Blakjak - 2009/3/24
An excellent comic, and I was surprised at how Arderas took the news. Eldhin must really be in his favor if he would dismiss what some would call outright treachery.

Cant wait for Thursday!

"Arderas" is starting to remind me of the Zerg Overmind from StarCraft. The attitude he displays towards Eldhin going off without orders?
Quote: Indeed no Zerg can stray from my will, for all that you are lies wholey within me. Kerrigan (Eldhin) may do as she (he) wishes
Given how unique and valuable Eldhin is, its understandable.
Lyinginbedmon - 2009/3/24
Considering his similarities with the HAL9000 ship-gem, I'm doubtful of his god-hood.
Trollop - 2009/3/24
The plot thickens!
Paeris Kiran - 2009/3/24
I somehow doubt it... If Arderas was the guy Aldran wouldn't be heading to valley of the night.
there could be some Dimensional/binding conduit but I doubt it. Even if then "demigod" Arderas would protect it himself... Few paladins aren't sufficient guards when you ask me...
Inkscape - 2009/3/24
Isn't Arderas that guy who's Aldran talking about in comic #21?
Doopliss - 2009/3/24
Ganurath: I think she's just newly promoted. Seems kind of wonky that a mercenary would ever be able to order the Grand Marshall around.
Ganurath - 2009/3/24
So... Zurie's just a mercenary?
