Falling for You

posted by Jordan on 2008/10/18 (Comics)

Alongside this new comic, there's some updates around the site as well. First of which, people may have noticed that the cast page didn't work properly with the new version of Firefox. We managed to get that all worked out, so the character bios are readable once again. In addition, I've added Eldhin as a part of the cast, and merged Andil, Laldera and Hilmor into one entry. It's not a lot, but if you're desperately searching for more to read, there's something for you. Tongue

So... is Finx out of the picture? Last time he got shattered, it wasn't "fatal" - does a "skeletal undead" character's skull have to be smashed for that?
So will he be respawing where his phylactery is yet?
Noting - 2008/10/19
Just to say, it seems odd that he'd need an "escape plan". I'm certainly not a D&D expert, but it seems like Aldran could just Time Stop and teleport out. Maybe he's used up his only Time Stop, but he could've it that's what he wanted in the first place, but what's to stop him from teleporting away?

Heck, what was to stop him from preparing a group teleport and casting it when he first saw his brother attack Keriss?

...Awesome...

I wonder what type of half breed they are?? erynes?
Doopliss - 2008/10/19

“Don't they mean the same thing???”

Theoretically, you have something like carbon monoxide poisoning which is slow and painless, or all of your internal organs imploding which is quick and painful. Quick doesn't necessarily mean so quick you don't have time to feel it.
Amaretto - 2008/10/19
Oops, pardon my typo...

Where i said that was "food" I meant "good".

lol
Amaretto - 2008/10/19
That was food..... "karmarific" lol.

I only didn't get the part where Finx says:"Would you rather have it quick or painless?"

Don't they mean the same thing??? And what kind of choice is that to make? veryone would say painless! Then he says that he would offer both but hes too evil. em.... wat? The are both the same thing so how is not offering one evil???

W/e, except for that it was a good comic...

Ah, AH never gets old... For a while it was even better than oots, in my opinion! (It's that oots got better, or at oleast in my opinion, not that AH got worse.)

“Yes and he doesnt have a scratch on him. We dont even know his level or his HP but either he have lots of healing spell or a natural healing and he made all his saving throw and everything Aldran did to him damaged such a small portion of his hp you dont even see it.”

But take a look at their varying exclamations when being hit. Eldhin's cuts don't even interrupt Aldran's ranting, while Aldran's empowered fireball coaxed out an exclamation of pain. Sunburst had Eldhin screaming for a whole round or two, while stormrage wasn't an immediate enough threat to Aldran to facilitate acting right away. Also, armor is inherently much harder to scuff than robes.

“That and, unlike Aldran, Eldhin seems to be an epic level with epic equipment (the black robe is nice but not very practical.)”
There's nothing to suggest Eldhin's armor is any different from that of his minions aside from his level and their little blips to signify rank. I present that Aldran's robe has to be enchanted in some way, or his hood would've blown back by now and we would've had a face shot. Tongue
Face of Evil - 2008/10/19
I think it would be fair to say the two brothers are pretty evenly-matched.
Face of Evil - 2008/10/19
Geez, what is with the Frank love? He had basically the same personality as Kaal.

Is it because his helmet looked like Boba Fett's?
querzis - 2008/10/19
Yes and he doesnt have a scratch on him. We dont even know his level or his HP but either he have lots of healing spell or a natural healing and he made all his saving throw and everything Aldran did to him damaged such a small portion of his hp you dont even see it.

That and, unlike Aldran, Eldhin seems to be an epic level with epic equipment (the black robe is nice but not very practical.)

Beside, we know Eldhin already beat Aldran once and he probably gained a few levels while Aldran was in hiding.

Beside, Aldran say «or until we run out of spells» while Eldhin is also a fighter...if they both run out of spells he win. I thought it was obvious at that point that Aldran is doing everything he can to avoid fighting Eldhin and now hes doing everything he can to find a way to escape.
Knight13 - 2008/10/18
what do you mean Eldhin's winning? He's been nailed with a couple of fireballs, including an Empowered fireball, and that Sunburst dealt damage too.

nidhogg - 2008/10/18
cheers, it seems you don't have problems with your writers block anymore Tongue
thanks a lot for the manny updates these weeks!!
Memnarch - 2008/10/18
Eldhin seems to have recovered from the Sunburst quickly.
Valahuir - 2008/10/18
Aldran seems oddly calm about Keriss' plummiteing to her death.

On the other hand Finx also seemed calm enough with his own impending smooshing.

Must be a wizard thing. Wink

Good comic!

Also, I've spruced up a few things with the CAPTCHA (the image you need to type out) to try to ward off some of the spam bots. I had to clear those of you who were verified users, but don't worry, after a few successful comments you shouldn't have to type the image anymore.
