I don't think half-celesial half-fiends have any natural armor or other ability to function without their head connected to their spinal cord. Tongue

I still say that there was no reason why Kid should have continued the swing, or what the "test" of throwing the match would've been meant to gague. Hell, I'd bet that, if Kid attacked in the last panel, he's be at quite an advantage with Eldhin's sword sheathed and turned the other way. Too bad Eldhin hesitated.

Oh he obviously let the strike through regardless of if it could really hurt him or not...but since he took two meteor swarm in the face I guess it really woudnt really affect him.
Ben Harrison - 2009/3/14
Don't forget Eldhin's (and Aldran's) racial type, either... it's quite likely a single strike (even in a critical location) wouldn't be enough to slow down either of the brothers much. And with that knowledge, Eldhin might well have let the strike through to test his opponent.

Either way, great comic as usual!

The new guy looks like Leon from rensident evil 4

I wonder id this is some sort of tribute to the holy day that it today, lauch of Rensident Evil 5.

“It may not have even stopped moving toward his neck before Eldhin deflected it”
I don't see any deflection going on. I see grunt's sword at Eldhin's neck, then Eldhin smacks grunt and disarms him.
Doopliss - 2009/3/13
Kazemi: But, with the dialogue, that would imply that nameless opponent was doing a pretty long "I just won" sentence in preparation for successfully putting his blade at Eldhin's neck. Also, hesitation wouldn't have mattered then.
Kazemi - 2009/3/13
Doopliss: I know what you mean, but since this is a comic we don't really know how long he had his blade there. It may not have even stopped moving toward his neck before Eldhin deflected it.
Doopliss - 2009/3/12
Eldhin's kind of a jerk to his own men as well. If his opponent had that much time to gloat with his blade at the throat, Eldhin was just abusing the fact that it was a sparring match to catch his opponent off-guard when the fight really should've been over, and then has the gall to claim that his opponent could never have won.

I dunno, I've seen better fight scenes. How does the ranking system work?

Querzis: Eh, I wouldn't exactly call "condescending to Zurie" nice. I'm not calling him mean either. He's got upsides and downsides like everyone else. As the cast page says, he makes good look evil.
Tanner - 2009/3/12
...you got that from xykon didn't you. lolHappy
Lyinginbedmon - 2009/3/12
Sparring with minions.

Is there anything it CAN'T solve?
Caldur - 2009/3/12
Jeez. The grunt's been in one strip and already I like him as a character. Wonder if we'll see more of him.
kres - 2009/3/12
Grunts! the only thing they are good for is a good beat down. Now that Eldhin has his ego pumped up... boy that is going to be one unhappy camper when Zurie lets the air out of that balloon.
Querzis - 2009/3/12
Sometimes dragongirl? I more or less always saw Eldhin as a really arrogant nice guy. Dont confuse being good and being modest. His ego doesnt prevent him from being nice.

Anyway...when are we actually gonna learn their name? Its kinda ankward to just call them 'Zurie and Eldhin sevants'. And by the way, I agree that Zurie servant would win simply because, as Hremsfeld said, she seems to be higher ranked. That being said, Zurie squad is supposed to be the least powerfull one while Eldhin got the elite troops so who knows.
Zazz - 2009/3/12
actually niley, the nameless grunt is right handed, its a old theater trick: ALWAYS face the audience. Which means that if someone attacks from stage left, they'll be left handed so they always face the audience. As of yet, it appears as if eldhin is left handed, and zurie is right handed(at least on the cast page).
Niley - 2009/3/12
Are ALL members of the Ivory Veil left-handed?! Just look at this comic!
Hremsfeld - 2009/3/12
Given that Authority Equals Asskicking, I'd say Zurie's servant would win. This guy has all six red dots, so he's basically a Private right now. Zurie's, at least, had two yellows.

And of course, being in Zurie's squad, she wouldn't exactly fight on equal terms. Tongue
dragongirl13 - 2009/3/12
Hmm, Eldhin can seem like a nice guy sometimes, but he still has too much ego. And the nice-guy image is very, very deceiving. Very happy

I'd be hoping for Zurie's servant to win. But I think the odds are pretty even.
Blakjak - 2009/3/12
Interesting seeing Eldhin in his own enviroment - mainly pwning newbs and grunts. I appluad this comic; and I like the new guy already. Who wants to bet if he and Zurie's servant fought who would come out the winner?

My bets on Zurie's servant - anyone want in?

And all aside I can eaily imagine Eldhins smile dissappearing in the next strip. Cant wait till Saturday!
