Too Bad They Can't Use Mirrors

posted by Jordan on 2009/1/27 (Comics)

I don't know how many of you were expecting something more grand for issue 150, but I figured that once I passed the 100 mark, the "50s" seem far less important. Tongue

Nevertheless, this was still a tough comic to draw, what with all the flashback scenes, but I had fun drawing it. Oh, and I threw in a bit of an Easter egg for anyone paying close enough attention.

As for the rest of Laris' story, it will continue on Thursday...

I've got it! The second map is the NE area of the Vvardenfell Region! ... Or maybe not. But it could be.

OMG it's a side quest

Nicely done.
I loved the "blood bank' line. Very happy

In the movie Underworld Evolution don't the vampires survive off of blood that is rejected by blood banks? Or is that something else?

I still think tieflings are hotter...

I know it's not the easter egg, but a nice touch was the red piece of cloth in the bag. His bandana, anyone?

wooo! That was a well thought out punch-line. And a well thought out backstory. You've used the sugar comment twice by the way *senses running gag*Tongue

This is getting very interesting. Thursday is just too far away to wait. As always an excellent comic.

Hmm, that's interesting. In the words of the demon roaches, "backstoryriffic!"

Great comic. Happy

this could all be a trick

Easter egg is the second map; I'll guess that it's the map of the world in which Zarah was running his campaign.

"Well, we are quite beautiful..." Hehehe.

Goddamn sparkly vampires. Annoyed

I laughed at the third and ninth panels. No really! Happy

I think the easter egg is the vampire's line, which is a reference to an early comic, where Lana kills a goblin who "just wanted to borrow some sugar" with a Magic Missile.

For some reason, "Twilight" is the first thing that comes to mind here...

I think Kaal would agree with her statement.

I was worried at first that this blood bank was a scam, but then they promised and I knew it was ok! Happy

Wow, this really must be a crazy world if people admire loaves of bread. Unless it was phocacia bread. Then I would understand. Incidentally, don't worry about not doing anything special for 150, Zarah - nobody cares about that milestone.

Don't worry about not doing something special, Zarah... the new art in this comic was amazingly beautiful enough! Very happy Awesome comic.

The red circle on the map looks like the shape of an egg Tongue
Tre of the Wood - 2009/1/27
Perhaps the easter egg was him packing his red outfit, which was everything he had?
Bob the ninja - 2009/1/27
lol Very happy i didnt think of that before gory mentioned it
Niley - 2009/1/27
Hm... does this Easter Egg have something to do with Elder Scrolls? Might...
GoryScarletSocialist - 2009/1/27
Wait, how would the vampire admire themselves, they don't reflect...
jason - 2009/1/27
I think it's the 'blood bank' being a reference to 'blade'
jason - 2009/1/27
i love the story--really fantastic stuff. I'm guessing the easter egg is that second map, but I can't figure it out. Anybody else?
